Freelance Creative Consulting for Independent Projects

Collaborative advising and polishing for small creators

I work with indie creators to refine ideas, strengthen narrative flow, and bring polish to creative projects while staying true to the original vision.

About me

I’m Xanban, and I freelance with independent creators, small studios, and solo developers on their creative works.

My creative editing focuses on helping to create clear, engaging, polished work. I pay close attention to clarity, consistency, and how the ideas come across to the audience, working to enhance creative projects to a high level of quality without changing the artistic vision.

I like to wear many hats and work on different types of projects. If you would like some help developing an idea, or just need another set of eyes, I would love to work with you.

Projects I like to work on

  • Game development and design
  • Webcomics and art pieces
  • Music and sound design
  • Short fiction and novellas

I offer a diverse set of services, and I have some knowledge about many subjects, so I can work to help with any mixture that you would find beneficial.

How it works

I support any level of collaboration, but this is the process that tends to work best for me.

  1. 1. Share your project

You send your project, or a sample of your project, along any context: audience, tone, constraints, and what you’re worried about.

  2. 2. Basic evaluation and summary

I’ll look over your material, confirm the level of review, and we'll excchange information and set a timeline before I start.

  3. 3. Editing & comments

I work through your project, leaving clear comments and suggestions. This will include anything that I catch both from a audience's and a creator's perspective, as well as ways to keep the original intent intact.

  4. 4. Follow-up

You can ask questions and request clarifications or tweaks so that the final result will match what you need, and we can discuss if you'd like to work together more in the future.

Why I do this

I just love working with creative people on creative projects. I work on my own projects in my free time, but there's a level of quality that comes from collaboration with multiple sources. I've always had an eye for polish, and I like to help people to reach that level of quality. That's why I offer affordable pricing for smaller projects, and I've even worked on some particularly interesting projects for free. Some of the best ideas emerge through conversation and collaboration, and there's so many creative people to work with.
